Bar is famous touristic, cultural, sport, traffic and political center on The South Adriatic coast line. There are 40.000 of inhabitants of different nations and confessions living there in a harmony.

Bar is an ancient town. There are 32 categorized cultural monuments in the area of the municipality.Stari Bar (The Old Town of Bar) is of the first category, it is about 4 km far from the city of Bar and is placed on the big rock; its three sides guarded by the cliffs, while the west side is surrounded by the big wall. Inside the walls there are remains of 240 buildings made of trimmed stone.

The Old Olive Tree in Mirovica is the oldest olive tree in Europe, old over 2000 years and is among three the oldest in the world. The scope of the trunk is even about 10 m.The Lake of Skadar, the biggest lake on the Balkans, represents a special ecosystem and is the home for 40 species of fish and various birds (there are over 270 species). There are many islands on the lake and a sandy beach in Murici long about 560 m is a special attraction.

During the summer there are many festivals and among them: The Bar Chronicle (Barski ljetopis),  The TV Festival of Bar(Televizijski festival u Baru), The Days of Mrkojevici (Dani Mrkojevica), The Days of Vine and Bleaks (Dani vina i ukljeve, Virpazar) and others..

The beautiful beach Val maslina ( Olive grove) or Utjeha (Consolation) as it is more often called, is on 12km from Bar,  right near The Adriatic highway. The beach is 185m long, 28m wide and on the total area of 5250m2 . The capacity of the beach is about 1500 people and the sand is made of tiny crushed material in diameter up to 5cm.

Just behind the beach there is an olive grove that gave the name to the beach Val Maslina.The beach is equipped with all  the necessary infrastructure. There is a Marine, shower cabins, beach equipment , rooming houses and it is very suitable for the water sports, diving and fishing.

Clean water and contemporary equipped beach made it the winner of the Blue flag (it is the reward  for the 10 best equipped and arranged beaches in Montenegro).
